Great start, bad end

Woke up this morning. was supposed to skip running today. but since dear wasn't around, so i stuck to my normal routine.

5.20 am: woke up & brush teeth (mind over matter as it is not easy i tell u to wake up so early) Eat 2 "biskut pintar"

5.30 am: slept back

6.15 am: Alarm rang. Press snooze button.

6.24 am: Alarm rings. Off alarm

6.30am: Start warm up and run...

So that's my normal routine from Mon-Fri

However since dear's leave wasn't approved, so i decided to run since mayb next monday we're going lagoon.

Breakfast today was plain ol' Nestle Fitnesse cereal with milk. Leftover milk used to make me coffee.. I don't think i can function without it. Then had a bunch of grapes.

Reached work.. Had to finish writing the addresses...And started stamping 'em. I never knew there were so many. Apparently the statements the office was mailing out were the debtors above RM 500... And there were more than 200 of them.

During lunch, i decided to go to Jumira and at the same time drop by church to pass dear's PIHD donation. I actually called the parish office first and the lady told me they close from 12-1 for lunch. So i reached there at 1 and waited, noone was there...was annoyed. Thus, headed off to Jumira to buy the St. Christopher's medal.

Had to call Godpa to tell me which house. Can't believe i was so blur to spot the sign. lol.. Bought 2 St. Christopher's medal and one St. Jude pendant.
Total spent: RM 33

Went back to church to pass dear's donation and bumped into Fr. Anthony. So i got the medals blessed. :) Kill 2 birds with one stone. :)

By the time i finished everything, it was 1.30 pm over and i wasn't even on the way back. So decided to go back to office straight away and have my pathetic lunch of orange, biscuits and nuts.

I actually brought my own knife to cut the orange cos the knife in my office is just way to short. lol.

At 4.30pm, dear called me, told me he and his friends were going Genting to "celebrate". Asked me to come along. So i thought would ask ah Po and Ah Kong when i got home.

Wanted to drop by KIP clinic on the way back, but it was closed... (need to get flu jab)

Went home..ate some snacks. Fairhaven PB candy, 2 prunes, a date and couple o' nuts.

After some bugging, ah po allowed me to go to genting. But ah kong kept insisting "NO". I got pissed off because of a few reasons (some is personal) one of which is that it was something i wanted to do for a long time and now when i get the chance, he disallows.

So, i'm at this point not on talking terms with him.

Followed dear and his friends out for dinner at Food Bravo at KIP. Had no mood to eat but dear asked me to eat something when i got back.

So i made myself an egg toast.

Would'nt call it a french toast cos it's only a slice and it has no PB. Wanted to put, but kinda forgot.

Made it with one egg, one slice of sourdough bread (bought from USJ Patisfrance), salt & pepper, and some dried parsley. Doing some experimenting with herbs. Hehe.

It wasn't bad. But not salty enough for me. So added some dark soy sauce i bought from Bintulu.

Ended my meal with the PB candy again. I just love it so much. But must control. lol.

Still have a list of things to do which i haven't done. Really no mood to do it after work..

-Wash toilet & Mop flr
-Clean room (which will be messed up again)
-Start researching on Final year project (kinda a long-term to-do -list item)
-several other things but not on my mind.

sleepy sleepy time..another new day begins tomorrow.

Bday

Have been delaying my posts cos been busy...8/8 was me bday! :)

Anyway, thank God. This year, it was such a wonderful birthday! Having spent it with the people i love is the greatest gift of all..

On Saturday, me, Akak Jack, Ah po and Kong, and my dear went to Divine Mercy for mass. Then headed off to Pizza Uno for my bday dinner with Akak Jean & Carol!!
Sadly didn't take any pics cos we were all hungry pigs and gobbled up the food.. hehe.

Anyway, we all ate two pizzas, 3 pastas, i ordered the miserable tiny portion grilled vege salad costing RM18.. Taste wise good. but portion is like tapas instead of actual salad. Thus, Akak Carol ordered another pasta primavera for me.. :)

Then, we headed off to Starbucks for drinks. Akak Jean had vouchers for all of us. Ordered 7 drinks and 3 cakes, one of which i akak put a candle on and the whole family sang happy bday 2 me!!!

I'll update on what my family got me for me bday, but this is what dear got me.

I so love the flowers . The best ever. They bloomed beautifully. The pig mug is cute, and is microwave safe. Tried it this morning. Kinda 2 replace the other "i love you mug" which broke a couple of times.. :( Dear asked me to throw.. "Never" i said. Hehe.. Means too much to me.

Anyway, that's all for 8/8..

Tokyo G

Anyone who goes to 1u as often as me would know that sushigroove has changed to Tokyo G... I don't understand why they did so, and i will never. Anyway, i went there to check it out about a month ago cos one of the waiters gave me the voucher, in a shape of a watch, saying that i get one free RM8.90 rolls (forgot the name) without prior orders. Only catch is that i've to dine in.

Well, the look of the restaurant seemed the same. The menu definitely scaled down. Price didn't.

I notice that the waitress/er tends to squat when taking your orders. LOL

Anyway, i ordered the salmon skin roll (RM8.90) which would be fee cos of the voucher. The food took quite a while to come though..

The salmon skin roll was nice. Salmon skin was crispy! yum.. No complaints. Portion is reasonable. but look at the price..

I thought eating this would keep me full enough, but i was still pretty hungry. So i looked through their menu and ordered a sushi which had cooked salmon and spinach wraped around deep-fried inary (RM10.90). It said it would be crispy, so i took my chances.

It was tasty i must say. But not crispy enough. Hehe.. I actually agree with them that their food doesn't really require any sauce because it tastes good on its own.

Overall, the food here is tasty, food service abit slow, price high..

Apartment (Set lunch) carbo loading

I know i seems that i am revisiting the same places again, well, i actually wanna try the set lunch before they come of the menu. It happens quite often that when i wanna try something, i somehow don't get to due to unforseen cicumstances. Anyway, thus i went to apartment yesterday. At the same time i bought some flower seeds for my garden from Ace hardware at Ikano.

I was contemplating whether i should use up my Starbucks voucher from my aunt, or go try the set lunch. As with the title, i chose the latter.

Apartment's set lunch comes with 3 prices, either RM13.90, RM15.90 and RM23.90. Comes with a main course, soup and salad.

I chose the smoked salmon wrap set since i love love love love love smoked salmon.

Again, i had the complimentary bread. This time the brad was huge, but no caramelly looking butter. Just regular plain ol' butter.

I finished it though. hehe..cos the soup came.

The soup was alright. Looks pretty small, but quite a substansial amount. Ate some of it with the bread. If i've not mistaken, it tastes like the lentil and vegetable soup i bought from Tesco's range of light choices. Except more parsley and black pepper. Quite nice. But personally, i like my soup chunky instead of pureed.

The salad was really small. I don't even think it can even be considered as a side salad. The salad was alright. Nothing wonderful. Difficult to eat though with the bowl blocking my way.

And came the smoked salmon wrap. So much hand-fried chips!!!!! I love them. Can you see now why i say that i carbo-loaded during this lunch? The bread, the chips, the wrap???

Anyway, i found the tortilla wrap abit bland in taste on its own. And the mayo or whatever whitish sauce that came with it was diluted as well. The smoked salmon is not as good as expected. Again, for some reason lacked in flavour. Don't know why. It had avacado in it, and onions. Overall, the wrap was okay, but can't beat O'briens sandwiches.

The service was once again, quite good. This time, they offered me water though i didn't order and didn't charge me this time. :) i know..kiasuness..

Oh..and the chips..Quite nice la.. wondermilk's still better.. The chips kinda tasted like the malay one's bought in packets. Don't really fancy them.

Is this set lunch worth it..Well.not after service and govt tax.. It came up to RM17.50.. Doesn't sound as nice as RM15.90 does it? well, its all in the mind..

so so sleepy

Don't know why, but when i got t0 work today, i just felt too lazy + tired to do anything. Yet, i had to...haih...

So much work to do as well.. All of a sudden, i feel that my workoad has strangely increased over the past few days...And i have to do that envelope thing again!!1:'(

Anyway, this morning, i had the quaker oat chocolate drink for bfast with milk. Don't really like it though. Milo is still a better bet 4 me. And ate my homemade (made by yours truly) peanut butter biscuit and a Faircandy peanut butter candy (they were reduced for sale at Cold storage, or else, i wouldn't have bought them)..

Then i dragged myself to work..I think i almost fell asleep on the wheel...

Did SO much work..(I think their like making me work a normal clerk's work, just that they give me crap allowance and an internship title.

Then, on the dot, when the Virus scanner came up on my computer (Everyday at 1230pm), took out my so called lunch..

Had one apple first, then ate the rest of my cashews and peanuts mix which i bring to work. Then ate the Taste of Nature Exotics Carribean Blueberry Fields bar which i bought yesterday. And now, i'm drinking the K20 protein water to keep me full... Diet la..lol

Been eating too much and spending too much. So it's a good way to save $$ and diet ma!hehe

The bar was nice. Not to sweet like the Kelloggs 90 calorie bar. And the K20 is alrite.. Starting to feel full. But it doesn't dissolve well in the water. And i suggest it be drunk cold. it's iced tea flavour..so i guess that's a hint. lol..

Anyway, i know, pathetic lunch. Well, that's what you get for being a pathetic lowly paid intern.

+wondermilk Revisit (2)

Yesterday, i decided to go to +wondermilk again since it was a weekday (RM12.90) set lunch..Thank God i found a parking. Considering its uptown D'sara.

Today, there weren't as many people as my first visit..well, better for me cos it means faster food rite?

This time i ordered the Honey mustard chicken (RM12.90 ala carte), Lemon crush wonder cooler (can't change to wondermilk :( ) and the cookies and cream maxi. Been reading online that their cookies and cream maxi is good.

So first again they give you is your drink + cupcake.

Lemon crush wondercooler

The drink was alright. i prefer the passion surprise though (they ran out of it..). Nothing to shout about. Kinda like sprite and a bit of lemon. which i highly think it is.

I didn't eat my cupcake first this time cos i wanted to leave my sweets at the end. So i waited for my sandwich. It didn't take as long this time.

Honey mustard chicken sandwich on multigrain bread
The sandwich was nice. But again, i preferred the grilled veg w/aioli. The chicken was a bit dry. I think they used chicken breast. I'm not sure if the sauce was honey mustard though. I thought it would be yellowish brownish..but it was white with specks of herbs/pepper. Tasted more like mayo. Was alrite on the whole. Still love the hand-fried chips..:)

I was pretty full after finishing the sandwich (yes, i know..gluttony). Anywho, i still attacked the cupcake. But before doing so, i dropped it..told u it was difficult to remove the paper. And i dropped it on its frosting side!!!!so sad... however, i picked it up, dabbed the frosting with my tissue and wiped the frosting of the floor and sulked for awhile before continuing with my cupcake..

Cookies and cream dream maxi

The cupcake was as good as people claim it to be. It was filled with still-crunchy oreo cookies. Ithink it's much more impressive than the peanut butter maxi during my first visit.

Overall, I still prefer the grilled vege sandwich and passion surprise. But cookies and cream maxi is definitely better. However, i was not disappointed in any way.

Oh, i forgot to comment, the only disappointing factor about +wondermilk is the service. Sadly, i don't find the people that friendly. I mean, considering the look of the place and price, you would expect something better. Oh well...food's good..hehe..price...affordable as a treat for oneself.:)

Food: 7/10 (better during first visit)
Price: 6/10
Ambience: 8/10
Service: 6/10 (not so friendly, and don't let you change drink though the wondermilk is cheaper..hehe..but i suppose i should understand since i was wonce a part-time waitress)
